This Privacy Policy explains how PayLot ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PayLot mobile application and website (the "Service"). PayLot is operated by Rudra Holdings & Capital Management Inc. in Alberta, Canada.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide the Service:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account.
  • Vehicle information: license plate numbers and vehicle details you choose to save to your profile.
  • Address information: any addresses you choose to save to your profile.
  • Location information: your device location, used only while the app is in use, to help you find nearby parking lots and confirm parking sessions. We do not track your location in the background.
  • Payment information: parking payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Square. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
  • Usage information: basic technical data such as device type and app interactions, used to operate and improve the Service.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To process parking sessions and payments.
  • To send you receipts and session-related notifications by email or SMS.
  • To help you locate and pay for parking at participating lots.
  • To provide customer support and improve the Service.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

  • With Square, to process payments.
  • With service providers that help us send email and SMS receipts.
  • With parking lot operators and enforcement, limited to verifying paid parking sessions (for example, confirming whether a license plate has an active paid session).
  • When required by law.

Camera Permission

The app uses your device camera solely to scan QR codes at parking lots in order to start a parking session. Camera images are not stored or used for any other purpose.

Location Permission

The app requests location access only while you are using the app, to find nearby parking lots and confirm session location. Location is not collected when the app is closed or running in the background.

Data Retention

We retain your account and parking session information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. To make a request, contact us at the email below. You may also delete saved vehicles and addresses at any time within the app.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
